High-quality binding by DUCHARNE, active in Paris between 1860 and the early 20th century. Frontispiece, figure, title finial, 22 culs-de-lampe by Eisen and Marillier. One of the most famous illustrated books of the 18th century. The work is followed by "L'Imitation des auteurs latins". The copy has been enriched with a very fine ornate frontispiece title. A fine copy.
