Single state proofs, on laid paper, formerly cut inside the copperplate mark (sometimes even to the subject or fillet) and mounted on cream laid paper. Ref: Robert-Dumesnil, n°237 to 248. Each subject bears the artist's initial. Subjects depicted: A Roman soldier haranguing before a prince; The Romans declaring dictator Q. Cincinnatus; A man wearing a turban; Young Atys inadvertently killed; Diana and her nymphs discovering Callisto's pregnancy; Scipio's continence... 3 x 4 cm approx. each plate (round or oval subjects). 35 x 30cm for the sheet.
