Large chased and gilt bronze set, comprising a clock and a p - Lot 213
Large chased and gilt bronze set, comprising a clock and a pair of candelabras in the Louis XVI style. The white enamel clock face with blue Roman numerals and black Arabic numerals rests on a twisted fluted vase, surmounted by an antique vase with lion heads holding cornucopias. The base is openwork with acanthus scrolls joined by garlands of flowers, and rests on an oblong base with projecting sides. Decorated with rosettes and acanthus leaves. The seven-arm candelabra with curved arms terminate in Greek-style supports, supporting pearl-decorated binnacles and bobèches. The shafts, composed of antique-style vases, rest on openwork bases with acanthus scrolls joined by garlands of flowers, oblong bases with protrusions. The dial is signed L. CHARVET L'AINE Hger DE LA VILLE LYON (Worn letters) Founded in 1852. Dimensions: Clock Height : 59 Width : 43 cm; Candelabra Height. 65 Width 30 cm (soiling)
