VAN DER MEULEN Adam-Frans (after) (1632-1690) - "Veuë du Chasteau de VINCENNES du costé du Parc". Late 17th century. Large etching and burin engraved by Adriaen Fransz. Boudewijns (1644-1719). Ref: Le Blanc, n°21. Proof on laid paper. Plate from the work "Campagnes de Louis XIV", a magnificent collection of 41 prints illustrating the facts of the conquest of Flanders, Franche-Comté and the Dutch expedition. Adam Frans Van der Meulen, an eyewitness to these events and commissioned by the Sun King, painted the military glories of the monarch to immortalize them. The paintings were placed to embellish the various castles of the king. 51,5 x 77,8 cm. Condition B (cut on or within the copperplate mark, small margins of the copperplate, a short tear in the shelf, trace of wetness on the reverse very faintly visible on the front left).
