Cami BOULANGER (XXe) - "By strength and union... towards peace", 1915. Lithograph colored with watercolor on vellum. Satirical work representing the lion of Belfort knocking down an emblem of the German Empire. Signed in the plate in the lower left corner "Cam Boulanger". Printed in Paris at 48 rue des Marais, Litho watercolor. Handwritten inscription in purple ink dated 1915: "The Prince of Wales visited the Vosges Defences, 1915. Prince, to maintain public liberty / What is the British Lion doing in Calais / At the age when you should be attending Oxford / From the Lion Cub William received the Republic / I take the inscription for the Law at Belford". 32.5 x 50.8 cm. Condition A (In good condition. Some soiling in the right margin and a tear in the left part (2,5cm)).
