A fine copy, bearing the coat of arms of the Marquise de Montmélian, née Françoise Elisabeth de La Cropte de Bourzac, wife of Louis Le Peletier de Morfontaine, Marquis de Montmélian, Provost of Paris, then Intendant of the Generalitat of Soissons. This marriage took place in 1768, Louis Le Peletier de Monfortaine's second, having been widowed a year earlier to Catherine du Cluzel. The Marquis and Marquise de Montmélian lived in a handsome townhouse in the Marais district, on rue Sainte-Croix de la Bretonnerie.
