ANALYSE GÉOGRAPHIQUE, SUR LES DÉPARTEMENS DE LA FRANCE. Paris, Bourrut-Lemeri, s.d. (1819); collection of 90 card indexes (131 x 80mm) and one fold-out map, housed in a book-like publisher's box, covered in green morocco paper with gilt roulette framing the boards and an ornate spine, slide at top edge. This set of maps was published in the spirit of education, with a study of all the departments of France. Each numbered card is composed in the same way: a map of each department in the upper half and a description in the lower half. The description indicates the former provinces of which the department was formed, the number of hectares, the surface area and the number of inhabitants. It also includes the name of the prefecture, its distance from Paris in leagues of Poste, the relationship of the remarkable monuments it contains, the names of the most famous men and the products and objects of trade. The set includes a folding map of France, dated 1819, and 90 fully engraved and colored card indexes, consisting of a title, a description of the work, a description of the distribution of analyses, the Order of the Departments and 86 maps representing and describing the various departments. The copy does include the map of Corsica, which is missing in almost all copies; nevertheless, the title map, an exposé of the collection, the order of the departments, a description of the studies, map 85 and the fold-out map of France are missing, minor flaws to the slipcase.
