Paris, Ganeau, 1767; small in 12, blond calf, spine very ornate in long, triple gilt fillet on the boards, inner lace, gilt edges. First edition of this collection of more than fifteen hundred maxims, by this disciple of La Rochefoucauld, who gave in 1737 an edition of the Maximes.
