Paris, Fédéric Morel; 1580; in 12, brown chagrin, spine ribbed, upper cover set in the upper left corner with a bronze medal, triple fillet and gilt fleurons on the back covers. binding by René KIEFFER. These ordinances were registered in application of the recommendations of the Council of Trent enjoining the presence of witnesses during the consent of the spouses during the marriage ceremony. The gilt bronze medal representing Henry III, was struck on the occasion of the renewal of the Treaty of Solothurn, in 1582, which sealed the alliance between the kingdom of France and Switzerland. From the Bibl. Lucien Allienne, sold at the Hôtel Drouot in 1986.
