PROUVÉ Victor (Nancy 1858 1943) - "The Opium". 1894. RARE SET OF 9 PLATES. Original lithographs, printed in colors. Plate made for the 7th issue of the Estampe originale. Nice and rare set of 9 proofs, 6 of which are trial proofs with color breakdown: - 1 proof of the plate in blue on cream vellum (without signature). -1 proof in various shades of yellow, ochre and brown on glazed vellum (without signature). -1 proof in yellow, ochre, brown and grey (without signature). -1 line proof in black on glazed cream vellum (with markings). -2 trial proofs in black, one of which is signed and dated in the plate, on fine wove paper (a few freckles for one). -3 proofs printed in colour, on glazed vellum, before erasing the cross marks. Signed and dated in the plate (a small hole or small creases marked on the edges of the leaves). The final state was published by "L'Estampe Originale" at 100 proofs.
