CUYP Albert (Dordrecht 1620 1691) - "The cows". c.1660. Complete suite of 6 etchings. Four of them signed with the artist's monogram in point in the composition. Ref: Hollstein, n°1-6 (the subjects reworked in point). Proofs on laid paper. Small margins. According to Arthur M. Hind, in his book "A History of Engraving and Etching" (London, 1923), "the engraved work of Aelbert Cuyp is very slight with only eight works (all sketches of cows) known. His plates are small, and are drawn with a rather crude outline, but all are full of vigour and significance." Approximately 7.5 x 8 cm each. Condition A/B (stains on top edge of subjects).
