- COLCHESTER (Elizabeth Susan Law Abbot, Baroness). Theresa of Villarejo. Spanish novel. Unpublished. Brussels, E. Laurent, s.d., (1826), in-16, 225 pp. with [4] ff. of notated music (Urge me no more), half tan basane with corners, smooth spine decorated with gilt fillets, green title page, spotted edges (period binding). Spine rubbed. Extremely rare atmospheric novel composed by the baroness Colchester (1799-1883), probably more in a spirit of personal entertainment than by real literary concern. The action of the work takes place during the period of the War of Independence, and features the thwarted loves of a young girl from Catalonia, all without any verisimilitude. No copy in the CCF. Palau 331 513.
