- GARASSE (François). Ludovico XIII Galliarum et Navarrae Regi Christianissimo feliciter inaugurato Sacra Rhemensia nomine collegii Pictavensis Societatis Iesu. Poitiers, Antoine Mesnier, 1611, 2 parts in one vol. in 4°, cherry morocco, spine ribbed with gilt fillets and double fleur-de-lis boxes, double framing of triple gilt fillet with fleurs-de-lis in ecoinçon on the boards, large gilt medallion in imitation in the centre of the boards, double gilt fillet on the edges, gilt edges, large inner lace (Andrieux).

Unique edition, very uncommon, of one of the first works of the famous father François Garassus ("francisé" in Garasse by the interested party himself, but the patronymic is indeed "occitan"; 1584-1631), who will later illustrate himself in the hunt for "libertines", as we know. It is a long neo-Latin poem describing the "Regalia" used at the coronation of the kings (crown, sceptre, hand of justice, etc.). Backer & Sommervogel III, 1184 (2). Bound at the end, by the same author: Elegiarum de tristi morte Henrici Magni. Ad Ludovicum filium Galliae et Navarrae regem Christianissimum. Liber singularis. Poitiers, Antoine Mesnier, 1611. Consistent with the signatures that follow those of the Sacra Rhemensia, the pamphlet is normally part of the main title. A very fine copy of the famous collector Eugène-François-Désiré Ruggieri (1818-1885), heir of a dynasty of fireworks makers, with ex-libris vignette pasted on the first endpapers. It is described in number 366 of the catalogue of his sale.
