- CAZOTTE (Jacques). Ollivier, poem. S.l., s.n., 1763, 2 volumes in 8], [2] ff. (title, preface), 195 pp. and [5]-180 pp. in one volume in 8], marbled fawn calf, spine decorated with dotted lines and alternating fleur-de-lis, ermines and scallops, triple gilt fillet on the boards with the same motifs in the spandrels, red edges. Binding of the time (lack of leather on the upper cap). First edition of this heroic play, in fact composed in prose, and which does not figure among the author's most memorable works. It was republished in 1792 (by Cazin), then in 1798, six years after its execution. Cioranescu, XVIII, 16365. Ex. of Charles-Paul de Bourgevin de Vialart de Moligny (1713-1794), commissioner of the wars, with his armorial ex libris stamped on the first endpapers, then passed on to the library of the poet and publisher (Editions de Minuit) Georges Hugnet (ex libris with motto on the first endpaper).
