Lot no. 6
MANUSCRIBE The Savoye Usage concerning ecclesiastical matters in relation to lay power and jurisdiction. S.l., s.d., (ca. 1730), in-4, 219 ff., covered with medium legible handwriting (ca. 20/25 lines per page), [16] ff. blank, marbled fawn basane, spine ribbed and floral, edges speckled with red (contemporary binding). In spite of an introduction which hinted at publication ("This work was made by order of His Majesty who wished to be instructed in the said usages, ..."), this text was not delivered for printing. One copy can be found under the reference number Ms. 116 at the Mediatheque of Chambéry, and one also at the National Library of Turin. This is a compilation on the thorny question of the relationship between the Savoy Senate and the Courts of Officiality.
