In the box, double sheet calligraphied in French. Dmitri Mikhailovich Tourine (1899-1945), a very refined miniaturist who participated in the survival of an art once almost reserved for icons. Palekh became one of the centres where these boxes were produced, the lid of which is covered with fine paints and which we propose to call "illuminated boxes".
