- CHARPENTIER (François). Le Voyage du vallon tranquille, a historical novel. New edition, with a preface and notes serving as a key. Paris, Chardin, P.-F. Aubin, 1796, in-12, [2]-xxiij-112-[2]-32 pp. with [2] ff. n. ch. of errata, with an engraved frontispiece, a wide-margined copy, cherry half-sheepskin with corners, smooth spine partitioned throughout, double gilt filleting on the boards (period binding). Two corners damaged, spine a little soiled. The first edition of this satirical relation was published for the first time in 1673 under the cover of a pseudonym (Ergaste).
