- ASSASSINATION OF THE DUKE OF ENGHIEN. Collection... - Lot 9 - Eric Caudron
- ASSASSINATION OF THE DUKE OF ENGHIEN. Collection of 20 pp. in 8° manuscripts dated London, April 13, 1804, and relating the condemnation and execution of the Duke of Enghien, grandson of the Prince de Condé, and decided by Napoleon Bonaparte. Numerous details allow us to affirm that the author is a fervent royalist: "The tiger of Malmaison has shed the blood of which it was altered" The last 10 pages are devoted to the account of the requiem ceremony celebrated in London a few days later: "Arrived at the moment when the usurper who tyrannizes France had the Prince we are crying torn from a foreign and neutral territory, M. the abbot cried out: "No man is sacred for the hatred of a usurper! ».
