BRIOT Isaac (Paris 1585 † 1670). Portrait of Georges, Cardinal d'Amboise, great Minister of Estat and Legate of France. Around 1650. Burin. Proof on thin laid paper. Ref : Dumesnil n°177. I.F.F. n°210. Fillet of margins. 18, 8 x 13, 8 cm (sheet). Condition B (a small spot of dampness at the foot, two traces of horizontal folds). This print was the first to be reproduced by means of heliogravure by Nicéphore NIEPCE in 1824.
